Hudson Yards

The Vessel, which serves as the centerpiece for the Public Square and Gardens at Hudson Yards, NYC, is an interactive monument consisting 154 flights, 2,500 steps and 80 landings. It is constructed of a structural painted steel frame, with underside surfaces covered by a polished copper-colored steel skin.

HK was specified by L’Observatorire International to provide a unique catenary system including LED fixtures, turnbuckle, suspension cable, power cable, and using special woven brass mesh hoods for outdoor illumination of the garden surrounding the Vessel.
